About Wat Na Khu Ha

The traveler had a fortunate experience visiting a local temple during a large religious event. Although the view was not particularly picturesque, with no lush green rice fields in sight, the atmosphere of the religious event was incredibly enjoyable. The traveler had the opportunity to meet many other tourists, exchange travel experiences, and taste the famous food of the local area, including various traditional dishes. They also got to see coffee plants and other local flora.

The temple, known as Wat Nakhuha, is home to a large statue of a revered deity, located amidst fields and surrounded by mountains. This new tourist spot has great potential due to the excellent cooperation between the local village, temple, and school. The geographical features of the area are flat with a river flowing through, nestled among the surrounding hills. There are two caves in the area, and the center is a rice field, hence the name Nakhuha, which means a rice field with a cave.

The villagers have built a bamboo bridge that winds its way from the rice field to the deity statue, becoming a highlight for visitors. When tourists arrive, the villagers sell their agricultural products, emphasizing their commitment to organic farming and refraining from using chemicals. This has resulted in a clean river with beautiful fish swimming around the temple, making it an ideal place for relaxation.

In the village, signs indicate the availability of fresh algae, a local delicacy, which is often used to make a traditional dip. Some of it is transformed into crispy fried rice cakes, offering a sweet and aromatic taste. The village also grows a variety of fruits, including longkong and durian, making it an attractive organic farming village worth visiting. The traveler wished for the village to maintain this way of life forever.

The village is not far from the city of Phrae, about a 45-minute drive. The route is the same as the one leading to the Phra That In Kwaen, but a little further. The road is paved and smooth, making it an easy journey. The traveler highly recommended this place as a must-visit when in Phrae province, as it could help boost tourism and transform Phrae from a transit city to a destination worth staying in.
