Situated near the east gate, Tha Phae Gate, is a splendid vihara that is sure to catch the eye of any passerby. The pillars are intricately decorated, and the statues are nothing short of stunning. The ambiance is clean and serene, making it a peaceful spot amidst the bustling city.

This Wat is conveniently located on the main walking street, making it a place you're likely to pass by during your exploration of Chiang Mai. While it may not be the most famous Wat in the city, it's worth stopping by if you're in the vicinity. The Wat is small but well-kept, and it offers a unique feature: little 'sayings' or 'teachings' about life scattered around the premises. These thought-provoking messages add a layer of depth to your visit. There's also a small museum inside, although it may be closed due to current circumstances. As you exit, you'll find a noodle restaurant filled with locals, offering a cheap and authentic dining experience. There's also a shop selling various items made with coconut oil.

The Wat Phan temple offers an interesting viewpoint down near the old wall. The details on the walls are fascinating and worth a closer look. On the way to Wat Chedi Luang, you might stop here, like many others. It's a small complex of temples, often bustling with tourists taking pictures. You'll also find many street sellers inside selling decorations or souvenirs.

This temple is a lovely place to visit in the early evening. The architecture is slightly different from other temples, with a green Buddha and a great chedi in front. It's usually quiet with few tourists, but as night falls, the temple is illuminated and a market springs to life around it. It's also close to restaurants, but for a more authentic experience, try the street food.

This small temple, located on the Tha Pae Walking Street within the walled city, transforms into a street market every Sunday. Constructed by Lanna King Mueang Kaeo in the early 1500’s, it is home to a classic gold Chedi called Sareerikkatartsirirak Pagoda. The temple complex houses a double-storied Viharn and beautiful icons depicting Buddhist mythology. In the temple courtyard, you'll find a huge tree and rows of bells which the worshippers ring after praying.

Located just off Walking Street inside the walled city, this beautiful pagoda/temple is free to wander around. However, exploration may be limited due to some renovations. The many bells are an interesting feature, as is the small Buddha by the tree with a moat around it. Some stunning pictures can be taken here, especially with the lanterns and lights in the area.
