About Wat Phra Phuttabat Si Roi

The temple, adorned with Thai Lanna art sculptures, is a sight to behold. However, visitors should be prepared for the constant solicitation for donations by the resident monk. The monk's persistent requests, amplified by a microphone, can be a bit overwhelming. A moment of respite only comes when he pauses to hydrate. This might be a bit off-putting for those seeking a serene temple experience. A pair of noise-cancelling headphones could come in handy for those who wish to focus on the beauty of the temple and its art.

Nestled in the heart of the mountains, the temple offers a peaceful retreat. The journey to get there, however, is not for the faint-hearted. The road is characterized by sharp curves, requiring good driving skills. Alternatively, one can hire a mini bus from Chiangmai for a more relaxed journey.

The route to the temple is a visual treat, with views of longan and persimmon gardens, and rice fields. The road, although narrow and steep, is in good condition. The temple itself is a picture of elegance, adorned with Lanna style artworks. A small temple, Phra Phuttabat Si Roi, houses the four Buddhas footprints. A clean coffee shop in front of the temple offers a place to relax at reasonable prices. The temple's toilets are also notably clean.

The temple, relatively new and clean, is a beautiful sight with many buildings to explore. The peaceful beauty of the place can be enjoyed at one's own pace, as there are no guides to rush the visitors.

The temple, Wat Phra Phuttabat Si Roi, is about one and a half hours drive from Chiang Mai. The journey from Mae Rim is a visual feast, with plenty of photo opportunities. The 18 km lead-in road is windy and steep in parts. The temple complex is under construction, with a magnificent entrance gate being one of the additions. The temple is home to hundreds of Buddha statues and the temple with the Buddha footprint is particularly noteworthy. The main temple is an absolute gem, with so much decoration that it's hard to absorb in one visit. The murals on the walls behind the main temple are worth a closer look. The toilets are clean and conveniently located near the main temple and the cafe. The cafe offers a good range of food and drinks at reasonable prices.

The temple, set in a valley, is a stunning sight. The journey from Chang Mai offers many interesting views. However, the coffee shop at the temple is a bit of a letdown, both in terms of price and quality. It's advisable to carry water. There's ample parking around the temple. A smaller temple nearby houses a Buddha handprint.
