About Wat Phra That Choeng Chum Worawihan Temple

The beauty of the temple in Sakhon Nakhon is absolutely breathtaking. It is a place that is well cared for and holds a spiritual aura that is hard to match. It is a must-visit location for anyone seeking a serene and spiritual experience.

The temple is home to That Choeng Chum, a symbol of the city and province of Sakhon Nakhon. This 24-metre high spire, designed in a Laotian style, is a testament to the region's history as part of the Vientiane kingdom. It is one of the finest Lao-style chedis found on either side of the Mekong. Surrounding the chedi is a Rattanakosin-style Thai temple with white walls and roofs adorned in green, gold, and red. This sacred place is highly venerated by the Thai people. Near the chedi, a small white building houses two fine Lao-style Buddhas and some old wall paintings.

The sacred pagoda in Sakon Nakhon is a must-see. A recent visit in the morning provided a completely different experience from an evening visit years ago. The morning visit was serene, with hardly anyone else around. The pagoda staff had already arranged joss stick and candle sets as well as flower sets. The serenity of the pagoda was reminiscent of visits to pagodas in Yangon. Inside a small temple adjacent to the pagoda, an ancient and unique Buddha Image was venerated. This Buddha Image had mixed periods artistic styles, unlike most Buddha Images in Thailand. The place was very clean and well maintained, with two big signs describing the pagoda and the Buddha Image.

The temple holds both good and bad memories for some, serving as a place of reflection and introspection. It is a lovely place, worth visiting, and one of the nicest temples seen by many. There is a lot to take in, making it a place worth revisiting.

Thailand is known for its many beautiful temples, and this one is no exception. It is a place where beautiful arts and decorations in Thai arts with Buddhist ceremony can be appreciated. The temple is open to all, regardless of religious beliefs. Even if one is not Buddhist, they can enter the temple for sightseeing, to appreciate the architecture, sculpture, painting, and mural. The Wat Phra That Choeng Chum Worawihan Temple, in particular, has a very beautiful art field.

The temple is conveniently located in the middle of Sakon Nakhon, making it easy to get to. It is beautifully maintained, with recently renovated paintings within the temple. It is a place that should definitely be visited when in Sakon Nakhon.
